World Creativity and Innovation Day April 15 - 21

Hello co-creators

Wondering how to boost your profile, business and karma points? Join our new group - World Creativity and Innovation Day. Over the next few weeks I'll upload stories of what people have been doing over the past 5 years in over 43 countries as examples of what can happen when one person, together with others, decide that creativity is something to celebrate, acknowledge, and embrace.

Won't you consider doing something for 2009 to help people see, think, feel, hear, experience life with new perspectives?

What ideas do you have for helping to spread the news and inspire celebrations?

Hi Marci,
I'll see what I can do to foster World Creativity and Innovation Day here in the Pittsburgh, PA area.
Thrilled to help spread the good word.

Hello everyone,

This year for World Creativity and Innovation Day April 15 - 21 we are recognizing that creativity and innovation, those terms, are in everyday language of many people. When I ask people to celebrate here in Toronto and when I travel abroad they often reply by saying, "I am creative every day."

The founding of World Creativity and Innovation Day April 15 - 21 occurred in Canada, and as you may not know, we Canadians have a particular culture. Here's a joke we tell about ourselves to give you a peek.

When Canadians die they are given a choice, they can either go to heaven or a panel discussion on heaven.

And another

Question: Why did the Canadian cross the road?
Answer: To get to the middle.

In recognition that
1) we are living in times of uncertainty as we bridge to the future (new US president, wars, financial uncertainty, weather pattern changes, toxicity in in our environment serve as examples), and

2) more and more people using their creativity and being encouraged to innovate, and

3) the Canadian heritage of World Creativity and Innovation Day April 15 - 21, and

4) people don't have time to add something to their schedules which are so busy anyway.

We are pleased to announce the theme for World Creativity and Innovation Day April 15 - 21 is: Keep the conversation going.

The benefits of this theme are countless. Here are some.
1) More people can be involved simply by asking a question or using the word creativity and/or innovation during that week.
2) We can provide questions for conversation on-line and for face to face meetings, family gatherings, and so on.
3) The overall requests are simple, it's easy to celebrate, and the content for the conversations can be related to any field, discipline or area of interest.
4) There are many ways to keep the conversation going.
5) There are many languages being used to have conversations.

So, will you join us this year? Will you help the world have conversations about creativity and innovation during World Creativity and Innovation Day April 15 -21. And will you let us know what you are doing, in coffee houses, in gardens, on factory floors, in boardrooms and theatres, in schools and in businesses?

At the end of World Creativity and Innovation Day April 15 - 21 we would like to post the World Creativity and Innovation Day Conversation of the Year, and honour the individual who facilitated the largest conversation world wide.

Here's what we would like from you
1) questions to ask that would foster conversations about creativity
2) links to associations, business groups, media we can contact to invite their participation
3) research and links that demonstrate the benefits of holding conversations
4) news of World Creativity and Innovation Day April 15 - 21 spread to your networks, colleagues, clients, students, associations and clubs.

Will you help? Will you help people bridge to the future to imagine what they would like to have and then inspire their movement forward? I hope so.

Let's keep the conversation going. For 2009 and beyond.

Write your ideas either to the list or to me.

Also, please let me know how I can support you, and what you need to help make our dream of a new World Celebration of Creativity and Innovation Day April 15 - 21 a reality.

Blessings all
Marci

What is the significance in concluding the week on Apr 21?
Apr 15 is Leonorada-davince's birthday. What is special about Apr 21st.
